How to play

On your turn, play one card that matches the current suit or the rank on top of the discard. If you cannot, draw from the stock. Play an eight anytime, then pick the suit that follows.

Quick reference

  • Goal: empty your hand first.
  • Match suit or rank; eights are wild.
  • Draw when you have no legal play.

Objective

Be the first player with zero cards.

Setup and deal

Deal seven cards to you and seven to the computer. Flip one starter onto the discard. The rest is stock.

Gameplay

Tap a glowing card to play it. Tap the stock to draw. After an eight, tap the suit you want. The computer answers automatically.

Winning

Win when your hand empties. Lose if the computer empties first.

Tips and strategy

Hold eights for suit changes when you are stuck. Count how many of a suit you still hold before naming one.

Brief history

Crazy Eights is a standard-deck cousin of Mau Mau and Uno-style shedding games. House rules for draws and special ranks vary widely.
