How to play

Only the top card of each column is playable. Move it to the waste when it is exactly one rank away from the waste top. Suits never matter. Ace sits next to 2 only; King sits next to Queen only.

Quick reference

  • Goal: clear all seven columns.
  • Play ±1 rank onto the waste.
  • Flip stock to waste when no column plays.

Objective

Empty the tableau. Cards left when the stock dies are the deal's leftover count.

Setup and deal

Deal five face-up cards into each of seven columns (35 cards). Flip one stock card to start the waste. Keep the rest as stock.

Gameplay

Tap a highlighted column top to play it. Tap the stock to turn a new waste card. No redeals in this version.

Winning

Win when every column is empty. Otherwise note how many cards you left on the grass.

Tips and strategy

Prefer plays that uncover useful chains. Do not burn the stock while a column move still exists.

Brief history

Golf solitaire borrows its name from counting strokes as leftover cards. It sits beside TriPeaks in most digital patience packs.
